Senior Week: Staying Safe in Ocean City

HC DrugFree offers its “Senior Week: Staying Safe in Ocean City” program on March 3 at 7:00 PM at River Hill High School in the Media Center to educate high school seniors and their parents so the graduates can experience a safe and fun week at the beach. There are many factors that go into having a safe week at the beach, and staying away from drugs and alcohol is just a piece of that. Ocean City Police Department Corporal Howard Caplan shares with teens and their parents how to avoid dangerous situations and risky behavior, and Ocean City Beach Patrol Sergeant James McVey teaches ocean safety, including how to identify a rip current. Corporal Caplan can be reached at 410-723-6610 or by email at hcaplan@oceancitymd.gov. He encourages parents with concerns about their teen’s safety to contact him directly.
